My name is Judith and I am an English student studying at Nottingham University. I love to read Gothic novels, horrors and thrillers.

Book Reviews

After taking part in the Reading Agency’s Six Book Challenge – which promoted students to read and review a book each month – I decided I wanted to write more book reviews, so started this blog to do exactly that.

I write reviews of books I’ve read in my own time and I also accept books for review. I’m a member of Rosie’s Book Review Team too, a group of reviewers who read and post about new authors’ books in a variety of genres. I am willing to accept new authors’ books in exchange for review.

I upload reviews on Mondays at 7pm GMT.

Before I began writing book reviews, I wrote pieces for the local newspapers in my area such as The Dewsbury Reporter, The Mirfield Reporter, and The Yorkshire Evening Post. I now also contribute to the Christian newspaper Evangelical Times with articles and book reviews.

      1. From Wikipedia: Redeeming Love, by Francine Rivers, is a historical romance novel set in the 1850s Gold Rush in California. The story is inspired by the Book of Hosea from the Bible. … It is written like no other historical novel I’ve read…very intense, very heart wrenching at times, but incredibly rewarding!😊

    1. Thanks for your comment! I’m not as big a fan of poetry I’m afraid, but I’d tend to lean towards longer poetry that tells a narrative (because it mimics the style of a short story or prose). As for favourite authors, they change all the time, but I’m definitely enjoying Stephen King’s writing at the minute, and I like classic authors such as Austen and Hardy 🙂

      1. Excellent! Well, I write poetry myself. My poems tend to be long…but they are very weird in their own right. I mix poetry with sci-fi, surrealism, cut up technique, & avant-garde. If you are interested feel free to read my Bio first. If you like then check out my poems I have posted in the recent days. You’ll trip out. 🙂
