Hello, my name is Judith!

About Me:

I’m an English student studying at the University of Nottingham, but I am originally from West Yorkshire. I love to read Gothic, horror, thriller, dystopian, science fiction, fantasy and young adult novels.

After taking part in the Reading Agency’s Six Book Challenge – which promoted students to read and review a book each month – I decided I wanted to write more book reviews, so started this blog to do exactly that.

I have been a member of Rosie’s Book Review Team since 2016, and a NetGalley member since 2018. I also participate in blog tours arranged by Love Books Group and Red Door Publishing.

Before I began writing book reviews, I wrote pieces for the local newspapers in my area such as The Dewsbury Reporter, The Mirfield Reporter, and The Yorkshire Evening Post. I have also contributed to to the Christian newspaper Evangelical Times with articles and book reviews.

Review Policy:

I aim to uploadΒ  weekly blog posts or book reviews on Mondays at 7pm GMT.

I will be taking a short break from blogging between late April and late May 2019 to focus on my final year university work.
I will also be taking a short break from blogging between late June and early July 2019.

I write reviews of books I’ve read in my own time and I also accept authors’ books in exchange for an honest review. To get in touch, please feel free to send me an email!

      1. From Wikipedia: Redeeming Love, by Francine Rivers, is a historical romance novel set in the 1850s Gold Rush in California. The story is inspired by the Book of Hosea from the Bible. … It is written like no other historical novel I’ve read…very intense, very heart wrenching at times, but incredibly rewarding!😊

    1. Thanks for your comment! I’m not as big a fan of poetry I’m afraid, but I’d tend to lean towards longer poetry that tells a narrative (because it mimics the style of a short story or prose). As for favourite authors, they change all the time, but I’m definitely enjoying Stephen King’s writing at the minute, and I like classic authors such as Austen and Hardy πŸ™‚

      1. Excellent! Well, I write poetry myself. My poems tend to be long…but they are very weird in their own right. I mix poetry with sci-fi, surrealism, cut up technique, & avant-garde. If you are interested feel free to read my Bio first. If you like then check out my poems I have posted in the recent days. You’ll trip out. πŸ™‚
